Inclusion (SEND)

Inclusion at St Andrew's C of E Primary School

'Together in God's love, we learn, inspire and grow.'

At St Andrew's we strive to support every single child, enabling them to reach their full potential academically, socially, emotionally and spiritualy.  Our staff are trained to support children with a wide variety of needs including ASD, ADHD, physical disabilities, complex needs etc and our SENCO has over 15 years experience coordinating SEND across St Andrew's school, as well as supporting with inclusion in other primary and secondary schools, and has a psychology background, a masters level qualifications in Vulnerable Learners and Inclusion, and the National Award for SEND Coordination (NASENCO).  More recently, the SENCO achieved a Distinction in the Trauma Informed Schools Diploma.  The SENCO works closely with two Teaching Assistants who are trained ELSAs (Emotional Literacy Support Assistants).  The ELSAs are timetabled to support the increasing number of emtional challenges that young people are facing today.

As St Andrew's, we pride ourselves on our passion for inclusion and this is evident throughout school and through feedback from parent, children and other members of our school community.

We do all that we can to support all of the children within our setting and if after exhausting evey option, it is agreed that we can not meet a child's needs, we compassionaltly support families with the transtion to more suitable provision.

If you would like further information regarding SEND support at St Andrew's, please see the documents below, and/or contact our SENCO Mrs Dwan.
