Inclusion - LGBT+

We are proud to announce that we have achieved the Rainbow Award!
The feedback from the assessor, was wonderful and included comments such as:-
'Staff at St. Andrews are highly aware, committed to and actively seeking further learning around LGBTQ+ identities. Staff have accessed comprehensive resources in training sessions towards their professional development.'
'Students at St Andrews are a true credit to their school, and a testament to the brilliant work being done by practitioners. Students were incredibly confident, articulate and engaging. From meeting 8 pupils from different year groups, all of these held some of the strongest knowledge on LGBTQ+ awareness that I have personally witnessed demonstrated by primary school aged children.
'Student Voice was a particularly strong part of St Andrews' evidence, and a group of young people who I will fondly remember the opportunity meeting and speaking to.'
Questions regarding LGBT+ should be directed to Mrs Dwan and/or Mrs Bell who lead on LGBTQ+ inclusion, or Miss Hayes who is out PSHE Leader.
All staff have received training ensuring that they are equipped to support children and familiy members who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and are equipped to answer questions, give reassurance and sign post to organisations who can give further support.
Your acceptance and support is vital for your child if they are confused about, or coming to terms with their gender-identity. Fear of negative judgement and rejection can be huge obstacles in your child seeking support (Young Minds)
