Inclusion
Inclusion at St Andrew's C of E Primary School
'Together in God's love, we learn, inspire and grow.'

At St Andrew's we strive to support every single child, enabling them to reach their full potential academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Our staff are trained to support children with a wide variety of needs including ASD, ADHD, physical disabilities, complex needs etc and our SENCO has over 15 years experience coordinating SEND across St Andrew's school, as well as supporting with inclusion in other primary and secondary schools across the Trust, and has a psychology background, a masters level qualifications in Vulnerable Learners and Inclusion, and the National Award for SEND Coordination (NASENCO). More recently, the SENCO achieved a Distinction in the Trauma Informed Schools Diploma as well as the Advanced level Trauma Informed Diploma. All staff has received CPD from the SENCO ensuring that we are a Trauma Informed School. The SENCO works closely with all staff to ensure that all children receive the correct support and adaptations to enable them to thrive.
In addition to this, three staff have recently achieved, or are working towards achieving the NPQSEND qualification.
At St Andrew's we are relentless in our drive to ensure that all children receive the correct support, prioritising early intervention and swift referrals to outside agencies when this is required.
As St Andrew's, we pride ourselves on our passion for inclusion and this is evident throughout school and through feedback from parent, children and other members of our school community.
We do all that we can to support all of the children within our setting and if after exhausting every option, it is agreed that we can not meet a child's needs, we compassionately support families with the transition to more suitable provision.
If you would like further information regarding SEND support at St Andrew's, please see the documents below, and/or contact our SENCO Mrs Dwan.

The UK government (Department for Education and others) has established criteria and guidelines for identifying and supporting young carers in schools, which include defining a young carer as anyone under 18 who provides regular, ongoing care to a family member with an illness, disability, or addiction. If you feel that your child is a Young Carer and would like a referral submitted to Sefton, please speak to Mrs Dwan or Mr Jones.
