DT

Last week you researched different habitats and why specific animals lived in those habitats. You then chose one and designed an animal hotel. This week we would like you to make your animal hotel. Use your design carefully, think about the different things you could add to your habitat animal hotel and the materials you could make them out of. Below is a sheet with some ideas to help you make your habitat animal hotel.

Week 4 - week beginning 28. 6. 21

This week the children will be taking tests in school. We are also beginning a DT/ science project to research and make an animal hotel using a shoe box. If you are isolating, we would also like you to take part in this project too.

English

There are 2 reading comprehension tasks, one about British reptiles, the other about British mammals. Choose a 1 star, 2 star or 3 star question sheet to answer. This will help you get to know some animals and their habitats.

There are 3 short writing tasks to take part in. One of them is create a glossary, which you could do once you have research a specific animal for your project. The other writing task is to use the picture to write a playscript about what is going on. The last one is to choose a task to describe the mountain scene picture.

SPaG

The powerpoint shows sentences that are incorrect, children are to re-write the sentences and include the correct grammar and punctuation. There are 5 different slide so the children could do one per day.

Maths

We are continuing to practice arithmetic questions so 2 arithmetic papers are attached. Also, there are some links to practice times table. These can also continue to be practised over the last few weeks of term and the summer holidays.

There are also 2 assessment question papers attached below, one on fractions, the other on statistics, which we have covered this year. Children are to complete this independently. Once they have completed as many questions as they can, go through the answers and questions they are unsure of.

Science

Use the links below to remind yourself of some of the different creatures around the world and their habitats.

Read through the notes about the 4 main habitats around the world and make notes. Research some of the animals in these habitats. Decide which habitat you are going to focus on and begin to think and research the animal you are creating the animal hotel for.

DT

Once you have researched your animal and habitat, start to think of ideas for your design. Think carefully about the materials you can use make your shoe box animal hotel. Use the design sheet to write down your ideas. Go through the powerpoint to help give you some ideas for your own shoe box or the link to help give you some excellent ideas!

Week 3 - 21. 6. 21
