As a class, we are having a huge push on Times Tables and using Times Tables Rockstars daily - this is also hugely encouraged at home. VIPERS - Week beginning 7th February

Attached below is a comprehension task based on The Vikings to round of our current Spring 1 theme. Questions are based on all areas of VIPERS.

Maths - Week beginning 7th February

Attached below is a PowerPoint to guide the children through our current unit of work on HTO ÷ O. All of the activities are attached, as demonstrated on the PowerPoint if the children choose to work on the activity sheets provided. Work can be completed on paper without the need for printing.

History - Week beginning 7th February

Now that we have reached the end of our unit of work on The Vikings, we are going to show how much knowledge we have gained throughout the unit. Below is a task to show everything you know about The Vikings.

RE - Week beginning 7th February

In our last lesson in our current 'What is prayer?' unit of work, we are looking at the prayer of St Francis and considering the question: What does this prayer reveal to us about God and Christian belief.

Maths - Week beginning 31st January

 

Attached below, is a PowerPoint of activities based on dividing 2 digits by 1 digit. We are working on consolidation of division methods throughout the week.

 

English - Week beginning 31st January

Throughout the week, we are researching Viking monsters in preparation to write an explanation of how to defeat a Viking monster next week.

Using the research below, taken from Kiddle, research the various monsters and make notes using bullet points. We have also received a letter - can you write a response using formal language?

 

 

History - Week beginning 31.1.22

We are learning all about King Canute in History this week. Using the PowerPoint, create a fact file about King Canute. We are also looking at two versions of the same event - King Canute Calms the Waves. Which version of the event do you think is most likely to be true, based on what you now know about King Canute?

This week we are continuing our work on division. Attached below, you will find examples on the PowerPoint of worked examples and then further activities to complete.

History - Week beginning 24th January

 

This week, we are learning about the role of Viking Longships during the Viking Age. We are creating a fact file of information all about the features. Using the PowerPoint below, follow the information slides and then use the video link from the BBC website, to create a fact file all about how Viking Longships were made and used during raids.

English - Week beginning 17th January

In English this week, we are planning and beginning to write our myth narrative based on Arthur and the Golden Rope. Here you will find a PowerPoint to guide you through activities to help you plan your story and by the end of the week, you can write your introduction to the story.

VIPERS - Week beginning 17th January

Throughout this week, we are concentrating on the character of Grendel in Michael Morpurgo's Beowulf. We have been really enjoying the story so far. Here is a PowerPoint of activities to complete based upon our first impressions of Grendel.

Maths - Week beginning 17th January

We are continuing work on Multiplication this week and moving on to HTO x O. Attached is a PowerPoint of activities to complete which includes some reasoning activities to apply your knowledge. We are also working on our 7 times tables this week. Use the link attached in the PowerPoint to find a fun way to learn your 7 times tables.

English - Week Beginning 10th January

This week, we are analysing the sentence and text structure of the Example Text. A PowerPoint is attached below, which includes the Example Text and a selection of activities, explained on all of the slides. All of the activities refer back to the Example Text on Slide one.

 

Art - Week beginning 10th January

In our Art lesson this week, we are thinking about pattern formations in Batik technique. Using the PowerPoint below, carry out some research using the slides to take notes from.

RE - Week Beginning 10th January

Last week, we considered why believers pray and how, when we might pray. This week we are learning about how Jesus prayed. Follow the PowerPoint attached below, which shares with you examples from the Bible about how Jesus prayed and a video link of how he taught his disciples to pray. Complete the activities on the slides.

In our Maths work this week, we are continuing our work on multiplication and learning our 11 and 12 times tables, using a variety of strategies. You will find various activities on the slides to work on and questions to answer.

VIPERS - Week Beginning 5th January

In our Guided Reading Vipers lessons, we are immersing ourselves in a fantastic new book - Beowulf. Using the PowerPoint below, follow the slides to make your initial predictions about the story of Beowulf based on the front cover and the blurb. A copy of the blurb is also attached below.

Art - Week Beginning 5th January

This week, we are learning about the origin of Batik textile printing before we set out to design and create our own Batik cloth in the coming weeks. Using the PowerPoint below, research the wax resist technique, making notes about the origins and process of Batik.
