RE

How do you celebrate Christmas at home? Maybe by opening presents, decorating a Christmas tree, eating turkey, attending Church Services, carol singing, parties etc.

How many of these activities come from Christian traditions?

Children should write about how each of the Christmas activities or traditions come from Christianity, e.g. opening presents, putting an angel or star at the top of a tree and how these traditions link to Christianity.

Autumn 2 week 1

Maths

English

Fireworks poetry comprehension. Read the print out. Children then answer questions. Again there is a 1 star, 2 star and 3 star to choose the appropriate one for your child.

RE

Read through the nativity story, using the link attached.

Consider the following:

How do you think Joseph felt when he found out that Mary was pregnant?

How do you think Mary would have felt on the long journey to Bethlehem?

Why do you think King Herod wanted to kill Jesus?

Choose one of the characters from the nativity story and write a recount of their part in the events. For example, if you choose the shepherds, they would describe the visit from the angel, their journey to the stable and what they saw when they got there.
