The academic year has got off to a fun-filled and fantastic start! Mrs Bell and Miss Tully are really looking forward to a great year ahead as 2018-2019 will be full of lots of learning through a creative, exciting and challenging approach. We are looking forward to spending this last year at St. Andrew's with you and we will do our best to make it your greatest one yet!
Our World War 2 topic always proves to be an exciting start to the year, and this year has once again proved that. With the declaration of war we have plunged into Goodnight Mr Tom by Michelle Magorian, Letters from the Lighthouse by Emma Carroll (as our end of day class read) and we've been writing diary entries about how we survived another night during an air raid! In Science, we are learning about Light through lots of practical investigations and proving scientific facts. We have started our dance topic with pre-war dance styles, such as the Charleston, and we will move on to study how dance styles changed throughout and after World War 2. The Journey of Life topic, in R.E., has had us thinking about our journey through life so far and how we will face the new challenges of Year 6 with the support of family, friends, faith and St. Andrew's School.
