Year 3 were excited to visit the Pyramids of Egypt recently on a Google virtual expedition! We learnt lots of facts about the pyramids and the Pharaohs who were buried inside them. It was a lot of fun and we felt as though we were actually there. Thank you to Mr Taylor for organising it for us.

A Roman Dig!

We began our new topic about The Romans by pretending to be archaeologists. We had to dig in the sand tray very carefully to find our artefacts. We used paintbrushes to brush off the sand. We then had to think about what each object might be and who might have used it. We are looking forward to finding out lots more information in the next few weeks and to our visit to Roman Chester.

Rocks and Fossils Work

What a busy week we are having in school. On Monday the children enjoyed learning what to do in an emergency from our visitors from The St John Ambulance. They learned how important it is to check that a casualty can breathe and how to put on a simple bandage.

As part of National Coding Week, we have had fun on the computers creating simple algorithms to make a character move to perform a task. It took a lot of patience and we often had to use the skill of debugging to sort out any wrong moves. Have a look at our photos to see what we have been up to.

In our work about Early Britain we have been finding out about Stonehenge. Have a look at our own Stonehenge models using 3D shapes and building blocks.

Building Stonehenge

We were very excited to release our balloons in the annual PTA Balloon Race. Who knows how far they will travel?

Up. Up and Away!

To celebrate Roald Dahl Day the children created a new sweet or chocolate bar to be made in the Chocolate Factory. They had to think of the ingredients to make it and how it would be made. But beware - many of the new creations have unpleasant side effects, so don't try them at home!
